Background

In 2009 year Geowise organised Local Information Systems workshops for InstantAtlas customers, as an outcome of the workshops attendees agreed to form a new InstantAtlas User Group (IAUG) which would be indepedently managed.

Currently the group comprises of over 45 members made up of representatives from local government, strategic partnerships and other public sector bodies. The community work and share with each other their experiences and knowledge on InstantAtlas in relation to Local Information Systems and Local Intelligence. Exisiting and new users of InstantAtlas are joining the community all the time gaining great benefit in accessing, sharing and contributing to the group. For members it allows them to developing their knowledge and skills with other public sector data professionals to help them develop their own LIS solutions with their strategic partners.

Manager of the User group Jonathan Caunce says

“The InstantAtlas User Group was created to enable the sharing of ideas, experience and knowledge with other data professionals and also to allow for a common independent voice From the Public Sector/intelligence community to Geowise .”

Mike Forster Managing Director of Geowise says

Having an independent body such as the IAUG will bring real benefits to its members, our own staff and help create a strong collborative, productive envrionment for the continued success of InstantAtlas in the UK Public Sector.”
