Council Education Services is responsible for the provision of education in xx secondary schools, xx primary schools, xx nursery schools, xx nursery classes and xx special schools. There are also xx community education establishments and xx public libraries. There are also xx colleges: xx & xx.
Data held in the 'Info Bank' covers data published on the ONS Neighbourhood stats website on topics such as pupil numbers and attainment at datazone level, and topics such as school attendance, looked after pupils, children with records of needs and ethnicity at authority level. There is also data on the numbers in further & higher education. These datasets are being updated quarterly.
The intention is to map data such as pupil numbers and pupil attainment, by home location. These topics, have traditionally been reported by school but there is also interest in the performance of children by home locality as the numbers of transfers to schools outwith the child's (home) catchment are growing. Further work is therefore being undertaken to map some of the data by home location. Results will still be presented by school as these are clearly of equal interest.
