Welcome to our Local Observatory site
This site has been built as a demonstration showing how InstantAtlas Server (IAS) can be delivered as an embedded part of a broader Data Observatory style solution. Most of the content is taken from a selection of customer sites which we consider demonstrate good practice. We would specifically like to thank Nottingham City Council, Brighton & Hove Council and West Lothian Council for borrowing some of their content for the demonstration.
The primary access to IAS functionality is through the section called called InfoBank. However IAS also supports the delivery of specific content embedded in other pages such as reports, tables, and charts. A key capability of IAS is its ability to make content easily embeddable in other pages (and other third party web sites).
The web pages around the InstantAtlas Server InfoBank section have been built using a relatively low cost Content Management System (CMS). This means all the content on this web site can be easily managed and updated. We can make these web pages available to customers together with information on the CMS tools that could be used to maintain them. This should significantly reduce the time required to build a similar site from scratch. However we do not intend to charge for these web pages and we are not in a position to support them or the standard web page editing tools for managing them. They do not form part of our IAS software license agreement.
