Child and Maternity Health Observatory (ChiMat)
Yorkshire & Humberside Public Health Observatory (YHPHO)
InstantAtlas Server provided the ChiMat team with an adaptable solution for managing and presenting quantitative data that was inexpensive and quick to implement. We were able to purchase the software and go live within three months. It was easy for our web designer to brand the InstantAtlas Server mini-site to match the ChiMat site. The highly interactive atlases delivered through the Data Views module are more engaging than static images. They allow users to explore our data and provide answers leaving our team to focus on more complex queries. The needs assessment modules we have produced through the Profile Reports module will make individuals within PCTs more productive by reducing the time it takes to produce needs assessments with local data.

"The powerful visuals in InstantAtlas enable us to communicate the issues clearly with all our audiences. We can analyse local service provision versus targets and easily graph these to make our lobbying assertive and more effective. People with diabetes can also quickly see how their locality is performing."

North Carolina Health Data Explorer
East Carolina University
The Health Data Explorer provides access to health data for North Carolina counties in an interactive, user-friendly atlas of maps, tables, and charts. It allows users to select, visualize, explore and download data on major disease mortality, disparities between groups, social and economic factors, and health behaviors. It is produced by East Carolina University’s Center for Health Services Research and Development and Center for Health Disparities Research, using Instant Atlas and Flash.
Report Theme - Health Behaviors – The Health Behaviors Series includes mortality data along with data on health behaviors (personal exercise, consumption of fruits and vegetables, alcohol consumption). This data is taken from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), conducted annually by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. BRFSS data is sample data, so it is presented with 95% confidence intervals.
This report was created using the InstantAtlas Double Map Template. This template combines two maps, a table and a scatterplot for data display. It is ideally suited to side by side thematic mapping of two different indicators and exploring the degree of correlation. Regional health statistics
National Public Health Institute, Finland
“We are using InstantAtlas for presenting regional health statistics in Finland. Our goal is to provide a balanced overview of the population's health, which is useful for health policy planners and decision makers in the districts and municipalities.
Our pilot site 'Terveytemme' (literally 'Our Health') presents the first set of health indicators. While the number of indicators in the InstantAtlas report is still quite limited, it has already received positive feedback from several directions.”

Compendium of Clinical & Health Indicators (Interactive Atlases)
NCHOD National Centre for Health Outcomes Development
The National Centre for Health Outcomes Development (NCHOD) is a unique national resource in the UK concerned with all aspects of health outcomes assessment.
Funded by the Information Centre for health and social care, NCHOD produces the online Clinical and Health Outcomes Knowledge Base, including the Compendium of Clinical and Health Indicators. This is an extensive resource used predominantly by local authorities and Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) to help them direct public health resources effectively in their regions, to save lives.
Director of NCHOD, Dr Azim Lakhani is in no doubt that the Compendium combined with InstantAtlas makes a difference to UK health and to saving lives. He said: "Aided by InstantAtlas, what we are now able to do on a much wider scale and much more clearly, is show people where there might be a problem. This allows them to target resources effectively.”
